(Radio.com) Speculation has been circulating all year about Jason Aldean's next studio release. And yesterday (Sept. 2) the Georgia singer announced that his new album would be titled Old Boots, New Dirt and hit stores Oct. 7.

"With this new album, it's definitely the same old me," Aldean said in a press statement. "But, I like to mix things up and try new sounds and go into territory I've never explored before, so I do a little bit of that too. That's why I named the album Old Boots, New DirtI'm almost 10 years into this crazy ride, but in a lot of ways, I feel like I'm just gettin' started."

Last month Aldean revealed the album's first single "Burnin' It Down," a slow-jam love song that shows him playing around with, as he said above, "new sounds" and sonic "territory" that shows him exploring new song styles and arrangements. Aldean released a video for the single last week.

The 15-song album was again helmed by Aldean's longtime producer Michael Knox and recorded with members of his touring band. "We've worked together long enough [that] he knows what I'm into and things I'm not," Aldean told Radio.com about his partnership with Knox. "We are not always on the same page, but more times than not. I think that's why it's always worked so well. It's cool to find somebody like that who shares the same vision-somebody you can trust."
