Macy Gray Returning With New Album and Tour
. Radio.com caught up with the GRAMMY-winning singer/songwriter to talk about The Way, Stevie Wonder and Metallica. "You gotta hear it," Gray says of her new album. "It's really raw, it's dirty, it's grimy but it's some of the best songs that I've ever done." Gray says the album reflects where she is now; speaking to grown-ups instead of kids who have some life experience under their belts. And uniqueness, long a characteristic Gray had in spades, was at the forefront of her thinking when she was working on this album. Gray also addressed her remake of Wonder's Talking Book, a project she undertook for the album's 40th anniversary. "It was really a challenge to try to redo 'Superstition,'" Gray said. "So many people have done it and we didn't want to do it the same way as the original. That was a big deal. Other than that, we had a really good time." More with Macy here.
