Aerosmith's Steven Tyler Inks Deal For Country Solo Album

(hennemusic) Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has officially signed with Nashville country music label Dot Records to release his debut solo album. Part of the Big Machine Label Group led by President/CEO Scott Borchetta, Dot Records was revived last year by the parent company after originally being a powerhouse 1950s outfit that released records by Pat Boone, Roy Clark and others before closing in 1978.

"There was an immediate connection with Scott and Big Machine," says Tyler, "and Nashville seems like the perfect segue for a solo project. . . and Dot Records is the right fit.

"My earliest influences put me somewhere between the Everly Brothers and the Carter Family, and this project is all about me paying homage to my country roots.

"I've been working with some f***ing epic Nashville songwriters, getting my feet wet with the style and groove." Tyler announced his intent to record a country album during a Twitter Q&A last October. Read more here.
