Nelly Arrested On Drug Charges

Hip-hop star Nelly, born Cornell Haynes, was arrested and charged with felony possession of drugs, simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia in Tennessee on Saturday, Tennessee Highway Patrol confirmed to ABC News.

They report that Nelly's coach bus was stopped for not having the proper stickers and a state trooper allegedly smelled marijuana. The Tennessee Highway Patrol told ABC that the bus was then searched and troopers found "crystal-type rocks that tested positive for methamphetamine" marijuana, drug paraphernalia and handguns.

The 40-year-old-star and another passenger Brian Jones, 44 were arrested. Nelly's attorney, Scott Rosenblum says in a statement to the news outlet, "Nelly was one of several individuals that was on a tour bus that was stopped and searched while traveling through Tennessee."

Rosenblum went on to say, "We are extremely confident that when the facts come out, Nelly will not be associated with the contraband that was allegedly discovered." Read the report for more details here.
