(hennemusic) Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell has unveiled the cover art for his forthcoming fourth solo album, "Higher Truth." Due September 18, Cornell unveiled the cover art via the website highertruthrevealed, where fans were presented with an entrance screen that reads: "Scratch to see the truth." When viewers roll their mouse across the screen, the cover image appears one stroke at a time.

Cornell began recording the project in mid-January before heading to Australia with Soundgarden in February to perform as part of the Soundwave Festival series; he completed the record upon his return to Seattle in March.

The Soundgarden singer will launch the record with a 6-week theater tour of North America that will see him perform material from his entire career. On August 14, Cornell will reissue his 1999 solo debut album under its original title, "Euphoria Mourning." See the cover art here.
