. I came up with this song after my guitar player told me about DADGAD tuning on the guitar. It gives it a cool sound and a lick that I came up with was perfect. The lyrics are about a girl that I dated for a little over four years. She had graduated college and was ready to start her life, while I was still in a rock star mode. I was given the option of commitment and moving to Dallas or losing her and playing music. Music is such a big part of my life that it wasn't something that I could just move on from. As the time progressed of us not being together, we still talked and different parts of the song are from true life experiences. She wanted the lights of the big city and I wanted to stay in the small town life that I love. I don't want to admit that I am to blame, so I will just blame it on Dallas for making her want to leave. I hope that people can relate to the realness of not only "Blame Dallas" but the whole record. The songs are a progression of the last five years of my life. Hearing is believing.
