Singled Out: Jordy Searcy's Seasons
. I started writing this song when I was 19 years old, and I got the idea for the first line, "I want to spend December with you, baby". I continued working on the song over the course of about 3 months, where I tried my best as a songwriter to pack something into each line. I took inspiration from one of my favorite songwriters, Sleeping At Last. When I had finished the song, I played it for about a year until I thought about recording it. During that time, I got the inspiration for the record Seasons-from the bridge of the song. "The seasons will change, and we will too/but the less that remains, the more we're brand new". What I came to realize about what I had written a year prior was the truth that though we change and become different people over time, the more we change, the more we're made into brand new people every day. My EP Seasons is all about change, and reflects a transitional time in my life. Give it a listen, and tell me what you think! Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself with a stream of the full EP here and learn more about the EP right here!
