(hennemusic) Former Journey singer Steve Perry says he is busy in the studio recording his first solo album in more than 20 years. Perry's last album was 1994's "For The Love Of A Strange Medicine." The project delivered a US Top 30 hit with "You Better Wait" on its way to earning Gold status for sales of more than 500,000 copies.

"There's been so many rumors going around that I'm in a studio, that I've been in there for years," Perry tells 100.3 The Sound Los Angeles' Mark In The Morning Show. "The truth is that finally went into the studio in March, and I've been in there ever since just trying to finish this record."

Asked by the hosts when the record might be ready for release, Perry replied: "Well, I've asked myself that today. I mean, I certainly am looking forward to finishing it, put it that way. I wanna get it done probably in the early part of this coming year." Read more here.
