Miranda Lambert Song Featured in 'Fuller House' Trailer (Week in Review)
Beginning with shots of the Golden Gate Bridge and the famous San Francisco house where the original series was set, Lambert's acoustic guitar wistfully captures the nostalgia that underpins the entire endeavor. "I know they say you can't go home again/ I just had to come back one last time/ Ma'am I know you don't know me from Adam/ But these handprints on the front steps are mine," Lambert sings in the opening verse.
Lambert didn't write the song-Tom Douglas and Allen Shamblin did-but even her parents couldn't believe that other songwriters could so perfectly capture the difficult 8-year period that marked her childhood thanks to their financial difficulties. Speaking with Today in 2010, Miranda's father Rick Lambert said,"It's like the persons that wrote that song were channeling into our lives at that horrible but great time in our lives."
Interestingly enough, the song wasn't originally intended for Lambert. Her then-boyfriend Blake Shelton received a demo, but Lambert had such a strong reaction upon hearing it that he told her to take it. She explained, "It was beautiful. I mean, I just started bawling from the second I heard it. He was like, 'If you have a reaction to this song like that, then you need to cut it.'" Read more and check out the trailer - here.
