Jared Leto Buys Former Military Nuclear Bomb Studio
. (Radio.com) When he's not winning Oscars, playing with his band Thirty Seconds to Mars or presenting at this year's Golden Globes, Renaissance man Jared Leto is busy buying a new piece of property. In this instance, Leto has snapped up an historic former military compound commonly referred to as the Lookout Mountain Laboratory for $5 million. It's located in the Laurel Canyon area of Los Angeles. According to Variety, the site "was originally built in the early 1940s and was used until the late 1960s as a military film studio where, among other classified projects, a small army of filmmakers and photographers with top security clearance made training films and documented military research on atomic bomb tests." Curbed L.A. adds that the site was closed in 1963, after nuclear testing was moved underground. Read more here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
