Metro Thuggin' work so well as a duo because Boomin' understands Thug's need for space--his voice fills in the empty parts of the song with warbling trills and tossed off bits of lyrical genius, like the following: "my pockets got lumps and bumps, like I bought it from the swamp.

"Warrior," meanwhile, is a six-minute long tour de force. The minor-key beat doesn't need to do much besides give Thug plenty of room to let his mind run free. Around the four minute mark Boomin's latent experimental tendencies emerge, and the track morphs into an odd, post-punk-ish stomp that must be heard to be believed.
