Wilco Release Surprise 'Star Wars' Album

. (Radio.com) Wilco just released a surprise album and gave it the apparently not illegal title Star Wars. The 11-track record comes before the forthcoming release of their eighth (now ninth?) full length The Whole Love, out September 27.

Star Wars will reportedly only be available for free for a limited time, but as Jeff Tweedy wrote on Instagram, it was all meant to be a lighthearted gift to their fans.

"Why release an album this way and why make it free?" he said. "Well, the biggest reason, and I'm not sure we even need any others, is that it felt like it would be fun. What's more fun than a surprise?" Read more here.
