Mastodon announced on Monday that they have been forced to cancel their upcoming summer tour dates through September 3rd "due to a personal family matter."
The canceled dates include appearances at several music festivals including Heavy Montreal Fest, Reading and Leeds Festivals, Summer Breeze Fest and Germany's Riot Festival, as well as two dates supporting Metallica.
Here is the full statement from the band, "Mastodon regretfully announce they must cancel their upcoming shows that were to take place from August 7th through September 3rd due to a personal family matter.
"Mastodon will return to the road in Latin America in Late September. The September 5th show in Iceland has been rescheduled for December 5th."
