(Gibson) The Rolling Stones may have wrapped their hugely successful Zip Code tour, but Keith Richards is hardly taking a break. On Tuesday night (July 21), the indefatigable guitarist joined several dozen guests at Manhattan's Electric Lady Studios to preview Crosseyed Heart, his first solo album in 23 years.

As reported by Rolling Stone, Richards and drummer Steve Jordan (who co-wrote and co-produced much of the album) stationed themselves in a corner of the room, where Richards offered commentary as the tracks played.

"Louder!" he shouted, as the first track got underway. Set for release September 18, Crosseyed Heart is said to mix acoustic balladry, country blues, reggae and propulsive, Stone-like rockers. "It's only rock and roll," Richards observed, just prior to departing. See the Gibson report here.
