Thirty Seconds to Mars Launching A Summer Camp

. (Radio.com) Roughing it with Jared Leto? Well, not exactly. But maybe just a little. Not content to settle for the typical immersive band-fan experience like an artist-hosted cruise, Thirty Seconds to Mars are set to launch Camp Mars, a three-day/two-night weekend in Malibu, Calif., this summer.

Scheduled for the weekend of Aug. 22-24, Camp Mars will offer fans a bevy of activities in a rustic setting (as rustic as Malibu gets, anyway) including hiking, yoga, meditation and arts & crafts as well as band member-led experiences "cooking with (guitarist) Tomo" and "coffee time with (drummer) Shannon (Let0)." Conspicuously absent: hair care and grooming tips from Jared Leto himself.

Also mixed in with the ghost stories and sack races will be a pair of Thirty Seconds to Mars performances and a series of DJ sets. "We have always looked to do things for our audience that are fun and unique," Jared Leto said to Rolling Stone about the Camp Mars weekend. "What better way to celebrate the summer than in beautiful Southern California with the Mars family in full." Read more here.
