Keith Urban Reveals 'Blurred Lines' Lawsuit Bombshell?
. Country music star Keith Urban has offered his opinion of the Marvin Gaye's family's 'Blurred Lines' legal victory against Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams and brought an interesting new twist into the story. Snoop Dogg, who is currently working with Pharrell, also shared his reaction to the verdict. Urban thinks the verdict was ironic since he believes that the sound of Marvin Gaye's "Got to Give It Up" was inspired by Johnny Taylor's "Disco Lady", according to ABC Radio. The country star had this to say, "I'm more interested in the fact why Art Stewart, who produced ['Got to Give It Up'], hasn't been brought into the conversation as far as the way in which he put players together to create the sound, which was taken from another song called 'Disco Lady.' "Marvin literally heard that song, and Motown were asking him to make something a little more disco-sounding. He got the guy who produced that song by that artist to come and emulate a similar atmosphere in the studio." ABC Radio also spoke with Snoop Dogg about the verdict when they caught up with him at the Justin Bieber Roast. He said, "I don't really got nothing to say about that, because I love both artists and I feel like, you know, if it was that, it was paying homage and showing respect and appreciation and sometimes... its misunderstood, its taken the wrong way," said the rapper, who's currently working on a new album with "Blurred Lines" producer Pharrell. Snoop continues, "But me personally, I don't have that issue, because I love what I do and everybody that's old school, I always give them theirs and if we work together, then we work together. But if it is that, it is what it is."
