Pearl Jam And Madonna Play Tribute To Paris Terrorist Attack Victims
. Performing in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Saturday, Pearl Jam dedicated their song "Love Boat Captain," which references the 2000 Roskilde tragedy, to the Paris victims. "Our love goes out to all in Paris," Eddie Vedder told the crowd in Portuguese. Like Coldplay, the band also performed a cover of John Lennon's "Imagine". Madonna didn't offer up just one song. Instead, she chose to move forward with her Stockholm show to battle the fear terrorists wanted to instill in the music community. "In many ways I feel torn, because it's like, 'Why am I up here dancing and having fun when people are crying over the loss of their loved ones?'," she said to the audience. "However, that is exactly what these people want to do. They want to shut us up. They want to silence us, and we won't let them. We will never let them." Read more and check out video here.
