Sam Smith Covers Amy Winehouse's 'Love Is A Losing Game' (Top Story)

On Monday Sam Smith Covers Amy Winehouse's 'Love Is A Losing Game' was a top story. Here is the recap: (Radio.com) Sam Smith wins with his cover of Amy Winehouse's moving ballad, "Love Is A Losing Game." Smith debuted his rendition on Annie Mac's BBC 1 Radio show last Thursday (Nov. 5). He said he was inspired by the documentary Amy, where the song is heavily featured.

"It felt right," Smith told Mac. "I saw the film recently and people forget sometimes my age, I think. I was 11 years old when [Winehouse's 2003 debut] Frank came out and that album has really shaped me as an artist and my views on music and my relationship with music, lyrically. Seeing that film brought me back to that moment of being 11 years old and her rawness."

"That lyric, 'Love is a losing game' is possibly one of the most relatable lyrics," he said. "I tried to make it me singing those lyrics." Check out Sam Smith's interview and rendition of "Love is a Losing Game" - here.
