Mariah Carey Directing 'A Christmas Melody' Movie

(Radio.com) Mariah Carey is directing a Hallmark Christmas movie in Cincinnati starring her favorite character, Gretchen Weiners from Mean Girls. According to TMZ, Carey hit the set of A Christmas Melody on Tuesday (Oct. 6) and requested that actress Lacey Chabert, who played Gretchen Weiners in Mean Girls, would be cast in the movie as the lead.

In September, the Greater Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky Film Commission announced that the production, at the time called Mistletoe and Melody, would be coming to the region.

Carey is not slated to appear in the film but, according to reports, her music will be featured. Check out what A Christmas Melody star had to say about her first day here.
