Sharon Jones Reveals That Her Cancer Has Returned

. (Radio.com) Sharon Jones announced that her pancreatic cancer has returned. The singer made the announcement during a Toronto International Film Festival screening of Barbara Koppel's Miss Sharon Jones!, a documentary focusing on her year-long battle with pancreatic cancer in 2013.

'I start chemo on Wednesday," she said, via Indiewire. 'But I'm gonna keep fighting. We got a long way to go."According to The Toronto Star, Jones told the audience, 'I'm going to do what I have to do. I'm going to sing."

After going into remission, Jones recorded the rousing Give the People What They Want with her band the Dap-Kings. The album went on to receive a GRAMMY nomination, the first such nod the band received for its music. Read more here.
