A grand jury issued an indictment in the murder case of Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington who disappeared after a Metallica concert at the University of Virginia's John Paul Jones Arena in October of 2009 and was later found dead.

Jesse Matthew Jr. was charged by the grand jury with first-degree murder and abduction with the intent to defile the case of the 20-year-old student, according to CNN.

Matthew was previously arrested in September of 2014 and charged with capital murder in the case of missing University of Virginia student Hannah Graham, who disappeared from the same general area and at same time of night as Harrington.

Morgan's mother Gil shared the following reaction with WDBJ about the indictment, "That the person responsible will be brought to justice, there's a lot of satisfaction in that. Something as heinous as taking someone's life should have consequences. Today, finally, the domino cascade of consequences for Jesse Matthew for killing Morgan Harrington has started."
