Alanis Morissette Streaming Demo For 'Closer Than You Might Believe'

(Radio.com) Alanis Morissette's 20th anniversary release of her multi-platinum album Jagged Little Pill is eking closer, day by day. The album won't drop until October 30, but today Morissette released another demo, which will be included in three-disc Jagged Little Pill: Collector's Edition, titled "Closer Than You Might Believe" (via Rolling Stone).

The chorus rolls in minor chords and Morissette's trademark powerful vocals, and completes one more piece of the puzzle regarding the demos leading up to and surrounding Jagged Little Pill.

In a statement to Rolling Stone about the track, Morissette wrote, "this song was from the songs that glen ballard and i wrote together leading up to the writing of jagged little pill. this was when we were writing music and lyrics together. once we got into the zone, after the writing of 'ironic,' i would go on to write the lyrics myself, and the music with glen. this song was about my lamenting the fact that i was relegated to the 'friend zone' with someone i cared deeply about in a romantic way. I had yet to begin writing as intensely or autobiographically. that began as soon as we wrote the song 'perfect.'" Read more here.
