(Radio.com) Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performed in Detroit on Thursday, where they invited special guest Bob Seger to join them for their closing number.

Guitarist Steven Van Zandt spied Bob Seger in the audience, and invited him up onstage. Seger grabbed a tambourine and joined in for the band's loud, hearty cover of The Isley Brothers' "Shout" (via Ultimate Classic Rock).

Springsteen and his band have been on the road touring the deluxe edition of 1980's The River. Fans captured photos and video of the moment when Seger joined Springsteen on stage. Watch it here.
