Prince Cremated Over The Weekend, Family Hold Private Ceremony

(Radio.com) Prince was cremated this past weekend and remembered in a private ceremony organized by his family, confirmed the artist's publicist. The legendary music star died last Thursday, April 21st, at the age of 57

"Prince was celebrated by a small group of his most beloved: family, friends and his musicians, in a private, beautiful ceremony to say a loving goodbye," explained the family rep. "Prince's remains have been cremated and their final storage will remain private. We ask for your blessings and prayers of comfort for his family and close friends."

While family members are trying to stay private, his brother-in-law, Maurice Phillips has spoken with the press about Prince's final days. Even though Prince was suffering from the flu, Phillips reportedly said Prince didn't sleep for nearly a week before his death. 'He worked 154 hours straight," Phillips said. "I was with him just last weekend. He was a good brother-in-law." Read more here.
