On Wednesday David Gilmour Combines Pink Floyd Classic With 'Purple Rain' was a top rock story. Here is the recap: (Radio.com) Legendary Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour paid tribute to fellow acclaimed guitarist Prince during his concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London on April 24th, a few days following Prince's untimely death.

Nearly four-and-a-half minutes into the 1979 Pink Floyd hit "Comfortably Numb" Gilmour launched into a guitar-soaked instrumental version of "Purple Rain" that lasted for more than a minute.

As the band played, the stage was bathed in purple light. Nearly four-and-a-half minutes into the song, Gilmour played "Purple Rain" on guitar before kicking into the classic "Comfortably Numb" solo at 5:32. Watch it - here.
