Carrie Underwood's New 'Sunday Night Football' Theme Goes Online
.
(Radio.com) Sunday Night Football's fall premiere will be happening on September 8th, NBC has shared a stream of the new theme song that country music star Carrie Underwood will sing for the opening. Underwood revised her 2014 duet with Miranda Lambert, "Somethin' Bad." In the brief clip showing off the new theme song, Underwood sings "Oh, Sunday night" instead of the original song's line, "Oh, something bad." She reaches for the high note at the end, her voice showing off the excitement fans likely feel with the start of football season just around the corner. The opening heartbeat rhythm that pounds under "Oh, Sunday Night" segues into a steady drumline-style beat for a rowdy opening number. "America's game, been waitin' all day/ The best of the best have come to play/ The gang's all here, let's turn it up/ It's the NFL, can't get enough," Underwood sings in the first verse. Sunday Night Football debuts on September 8 when Super Bowl Champs the Denver Broncos play the Carolina Panthers at 8:30 p.m. ET. Listen to a brief clip of the new theme song here.
