Singled Out: Le Boom's What We Do
. ![]()
New lo-fi dance/disco artist and DJ Le Boom, a.k.a. Christy Leech, is creating a buzz with his debut single and video so we asked him to tell us the story behind the track. Here is the story: "What We Do" started life as a cover of Fakear's Hinode. We had a long festival slot coming up at the beginning of the summer and didn't really have enough songs in our set. I wanted to play the cover at the show but it turned out to be too slow and chilled for our festival set so I just left it. A while later, i was writing lyrics for an acoustic song and went back to the Fakear cover and started changing it up a bit. When I overlaid the lyrics on top of it, What We Do started to take shape. I recorded the music pretty much there and then in my apartment in Dublin. I recorded the vocals a few days later when I was visiting a tiny island called Inis Meain which is just off the west coast of Ireland. The house I recorded the vocals in obviously wasn't set up for that kind of thing so you can hear noises from outside all over the vocal tracks, Thankfully it's a very silent island. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, watch the video here and learn more about Le Boom right here!
