Malik also opened up writing "Pillowtalk" after leaving One Direction. "[I] got in the studio with a couple of writers that go by the name of Mike and Anthony Hannides," he explained. "We wrote that song around the time that I was feeling those emotions and I feel like that's why it came out the way it did.
