"Stranglehold" was the opening track on Nugent's 1975 self-titled debut album, which features several classics by the Michigan rocker including "Stormtroopin'", "Motor City Madhouse" and "Just What The Doctor Ordered." "Ted Nugent" peaked at No. 28 on the US Billboard 200 on its way to sales of more than 2 million copies in the States alone. Nugent launched his solo career after a decade with The Amboy Dukes, who he formed in Chicago in 1964. The group is best known for its one hit single - the title track to their second album, 1968's "Journey To The Center Of The Mind."
