. Herald Scotland reports the council received over 80 letters of support for the Scott tribute, which is expected to help attract tourists to the town of about 6,000. "The proposal would provide a new tourist attraction in the town, in a manner that is compatible with relevant development plan policy," said Angus council head of planning and place Vivien Smith. Designed by John McKenna, the 2.4m-high bronze statue is due to be unveiled at the annual Bonfest event in April, which attracts AC/DC fans from around the globe for a weekend of music and tributes to the late singer, who died in 1980 at the age of 33.
