Trace Adkins Talks New Single 'Lit'

(Radio.com) Trace Adkins is about to return in a big way with a new album due out later this year. The still-untitled album is expected to be released later this summer on Wheelhouse Records, a brand new imprint of country label powerhouse Broken Bow Records. Earlier this year, we got a taste of it via "Jesus and Jones," and we're about hear a little more with his new single, "Lit." Adkins spoke to Radio.com about his latest track. "'Lit' was a song that just came along as we were in the process of recording this album. I didn't expect it to be a single, but Benny Brown, the president of the label [Wheelhouse], got all lit up about it, and he wanted to put it out as a single, so that's what we're doing. It's just a fun song. Don't look for the deep, profound thing, there's nothing deep or profound about this." And he says that it's important to have a few fun songs on his albums. Read more here.
