Courtney Barnett Covers The Lemonheads' 'Paid To Smile'
. ![]()
(Radio.com) It is no secret that Courtney Barnett is a huge fan of the Lemonheads. The singer has previously covered "Being Around" and has referred to "Paid To Smile," as "a perfect pop song." In a recent session with CBC Radio 2's The Strombo Show, the singer covers the Lemonheads' "Paid To Smile." Sitting in the studio alone with an acoustic guitar, she strums the chords and makes the song her own with a stripped down, garage rock feel. While the Lemonheads' original is clearly more produced, Barnett's version laser focuses on the lyrics which as a result shows the emotion within the song. Check out Courtney's version, and the original, here. Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com. |
