Halsey Attempted Suicide When She Was A Teen

(Radio.com) Singer Halsey is one of those artists who prides themselves on being relatable to their fans. In a recent interview with Billboard, she opened up about the harsh impact being diagnosed with bipolar disorder at 17 had on her.

She even revealed the diagnosis was so much for her to handle she attempted to commit suicide. Halsey told the mag, "I had tried to kill myself. I was an adolescent. I didn't know what I was doing. Because I was 17, I was still in a children's ward. Which was terrifying. I was in there with 9-year-olds who had tried to kill themselves."

The 21-year-old's downward spiral also had to do with a boy she was "following" around the time of her diagnosis. While she doesn't offer much about the relationship, Halsey says, "I was 17. He was 23, and he had a really serious heroin addiction." Read more here.
