Blake Shelton Talks Duet With Gwen Stefani
.
(Extra) Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani's love story played out on "The Voice" stage Monday night. The couple, who got together while working on the hit show, debuted their duet "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" from Shelton's upcoming country album, "If I'm Honest." The two have never been more honest with their feelings, gazing into each other's eyes the entire time they sang. "Extra" learned the packed-on-PDA performance was pre-taped and took two takes. After one take, Blake gave her a hug and kissed the top of her head. Blake was with "Extra's" Renee Bargh before the show, gushing over his girlfriend and saying he has never seen people from other countries be interested in his music before, but has noticed it on social media because of her. "It's the power of Gwen Stefani, man." Anticipating getting on stage with his girlfriend, he said, "It's not like anything I think that she and I have ever done before. This is such an honest song just about kind of how we got started." Opening up about the song's inception, he said, "Originally, when I started the song, I was just, I was only trying to impress her, you know, just trying to write her a song to get her excited about me, and I sent her the song half-finished and she wrote the other half of the song, so it's such a 50/50 emotionally-invested thing." Getting giddy, he said, "It's already fun just talking about it - the fact that this is happening is exciting." Read more here. Extra submitted this story. |
