Triumph's Rik Emmett Previews New Album 'RES9'
.
(hennemusic) Triumph's Rik Emmett is streaming samples of all of the songs that will be featured on the upcoming November 11 release of his latest album "RES9." The project by Emmett and his touring band Resolution 9 - featuring guitarist Dave Dunlop, bassist Steve Skingley and drummer Paul DeLong - delivers new music with the help of guest appearances by Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson, Dream Theater vocalist James LaBrie, and a reunion with Triumph members Mike Levine and Gil Moore. "This album represents a journey through my life," explains Emmett, "and the idea behind a lot of these songs is me trying to figure out who I am, and why I'm doing what I'm doing. There's a common thread of positivity here that ties into the records I was making 30 years ago. What did I learn from making them? You'll hear all of that echoed in the grooves of this album." "RES9" was first previewed with the lead track, "Human Race" - which features Lifeson - and "I Sing" with LaBrie.
