Raymond from FEAR FACTORY has written up a detailed break down of where they are at with their upcoming album. Check it out and check out www.fearfactory.com for more info!
OK, here are the updates so far.
We will be recording in L.A. We have not
picked a studio as yet, but we will pick one soon. As far as a producer
goes, we are still looking into producers, but this is what we know:
Bob Rock will NOT do the record, he said
it was too heavy for him. Toby Wright will not do the record either,
he is doing the new Ozzy record.
The original plan was to do it ourselves
with Rhys Fulber. Rhys will still be a part of this album no matter what,
but we are still looking at producers.
We will be going into the studio on September
5th and will have updates every day here at www.fearfactory.com once we
get into the studio.
We have 21 songs in total, with 8 for
the album. We want to write 2 or 3 more for the album; the rest of the
tracks will be b-side tracks, video game tracks, movie tracks, etc...
Here are the details of each track for the album.
1. Digi Mortal 100bpm
This song is very much like Shock with
groovy verses, a lot of triplets on the kick drums, and a very melodic
chorus.
2. Lynch Pin 110bpm
This song is all about groove. Extremely
catchy chorus, this will be the sing-along song for sure. Think of this
as Replica meets Martyr.
3. Strain vs Resistance 82bpm
This is a very different song for us.
It has a Rage Against The Machine groove to it, with a straight chorus;
melodic again, with a U2 meets Ministry feel to it.
4. Byte Block 79bpm
This is probably the most industrial song
weve got. It starts out with this killer guitar pattern into a kick drum
pattern. Starts kind of like Zero Signal, but it is an alternating kick
drum pattern, then breaks into parts of that pattern for the verses, into
a straight heavy chorus like New Breed.
5. no title yet 130bpm
This song is sick; think of Freedom Or
Fire on speed. This song once again has a melodic Burt-style chorus with
Static-X type verses. Very fast stops and continues; Fear Factory trademark
stuff on this one.
6. Acres Of Skin 122bpm
OK, plain and simple; If you remember
the first song on the Pantera record Far Beyond Driven, than that is what
this song is like.
7. Invisible Wounds 76bpm
This song is a lot like Descent, but even
catchier. will also be a big sing-along song for sure. But then the middle
turns into this extremely heavy Fear Factory mechanical type middle section.
Very epic song like Resurrection.
8. Hurt Conveyor 63bpm
This song is a rock song all the way.
The chorus has a Deftones touch to it.
