Reports of Eminems demise appear to be an Internet hoax.
An email that began making the rounds on the Internet over the weekend reported that the controversial rapper was the victim of a fatal car crash. According to the email, Eminem lost control of a rental vehicle on the way to a party, swerved off the road hitting several cars that were on the side of the road.
MTV.com were one of a few news sources that decided to run with the story. Although MTV was reported to have photographs and eyewitness accounts of the fatal accident, it appears that those reports were without merit. MTV.com has since pulled the story from their website.
Official word refuting the rumor is expected from the rappers record label Universal/Interscope .
In other Eminem news, the rapper has reportedly
reconciled with his wife Kim Mathers. Eminem filed for divorce in August
a few months after a widely publicized incident outside of a Detroit area
bar where the rapper was said to have found his wife kissing another man.
According to witnesses and press accounts Eminem and the man got into a
scuffle that culminated in the rapper allegedly striking the other man
with an unloaded gun. Felony weapon and assault charges resulted from this
incident and Eminem is due in court on Feb. 13th to either accept a plea-bargain
or set a trial date. Kim Mathers counter sued her husband for divorce a
week after he brought suit. According to a statement from Kim Mathers
attorney the rapper and his wife have dropped their divorce cases and are
again living together in their Michigan home.
