The band is hard at work rehearsing in it's new incarnation in hopes of returning to the road as early as March.
Below is a press release from Great White's management.
Days
before Great White was to embark on the European tour, lead guitarist Mark
Kendall informed us that he was leaving the band. Great White immediately
set out to find a replacement for the European tour. The Band recruited
a lead guitar player who was familiar with the bands music, and
invited
him to join them on the tour in Europe. Due to the short amount of time
available and scheduling, we had no time to set-up proper rehearsals. This
would later prove to be quite costly.
Great
White performed their first show in Madrid and it was apparent that the
quality
of performance was lacking, which resulted in a very mediocre show. The
audience, fans and the band were unimpressed and disappointed by the
overall
lack of impact.
Great
White immediately went into rehearsal in order to try and salvage and
recapture
its usual high performance level. However, the problem required much more
attention, and due to the tight touring schedule, we were not able to adequately
address the situation. The band feels in all good conscience that rather
than presenting a substandard and disappointing show to its fans and public
alike, Great White has no alternative but to cancel this much anticipated
and important tour. This was clearly a very difficult decision for the
band to make.
We
apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding
of this very unfortunate incident. Great White has always been
proud
of and will always be indebted to its loyal and dedicated fans. Great White
will be back, so stay tuned for an announcement of new tour dates in
the
very near future.
