The United States leg of the Brave New World Tour will kick of at Madison Square Garden in New York City on August 5th. Halford and Queensryche will be along for the entire US leg of tour, which is expected to run for six weeks.
Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson said on the band's official web site. "We think this is a fantastic bill which will prove to everyone how metal is very relevant and stronger than ever in the year 2000, I personally can't wait for the buzz of getting back on that Garden stage again. New York is always special for us- the 2 shows last July were incredible - so its a great way to open the US leg of the tour !"
Halford is the new band from former Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford. Their debut album " Resurrection" is due out on August 8th. Halford watchers on the web are already buzzing about the project which is said to be a return to the singer's metal roots (Judas Priest circa 1978-1984). His last project, an industrial band called Two, didn't go over too well with long time Halford fans.
Queensryche is touring in support of their greatest hits album that will be in stores on June 27th.
