Many of our visitors have asked for more news about hard rock, punk and heavy metal bands. Many news items come to our attention that don't warrant a full article. About once a week we will recap those stories that involve hard rock, metal, punk and harder modern rock artists.

Slash has been recording with Rod Stewart. The former GNR axeman's guitar tracks are supposed to appear on Stewart's next album that will be out later this year with a tour to follow. Slash may also be part of the tour according to several news accounts.

CC Deville's Samantha 7 has release their self-titled debut on Portrate/Sony records. (Before you jeer we must tell you they  sounds nothing like Poison)

Jason West the former drummer for agent zero has joined Neurotica.

Nickelback will be returning to the road with 3 Doors Down in July. They previously toured with the chart topping alt-rock band this spring prior to going on the road with Creed and Sevendust. Vocalist, Chad Kroeger, told antiMUSIC that Nickelback  may appear at a few of the Summer Sanitarium dates with Metallica, Korn, and Kid Rock. No official announcement has been made yet.

Phil Soussan has joined the lawsuit against Ozzy Osbourne for unpaid royalties. Soussan played on Osbourne's "Ultimate Sin" album and claims that he has not been paid what he is owed for his song writing on the album. In January, Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake filed a $20 million suit against Osbourne claiming they were owed back royalties.

Last week Axl Rose took the stage for the first time since1993. Rose joined former GNR guitarist Gilbe Clarke onstage at West Hollywood's Cat Club and sang two Rolling Stones songs, "Wild Horses" and "Dead Flowers."

Deicide released their first album in two years on June 27th. The CD titled "Insineratehymn" released by Roadrunner Records is available from most major music retailers and online CD stores.

Former Iron Maiden Vocalist Paul Di'anno's Solo project Di'Anno has just released a new CD through Empire Record. The CD is titled "Nomad" and Di'anno will start a U.S. Tour in August to support the release.   8-25 Fern Park, Fl The Station
