The first single, "The Wicker Man" is already enjoying radio airplay on heavy metal orientated stations across the world.
It wouldn't be a real Iron Maiden release without special edition collectibles. The single for "The Wicker Man" will contain a Eddie Beermat and feature exclusive live tracks from the band's sold out Ed Hunter Tour of Europe and America in 1999. There are also plans to release a special Limited Edition 12inch picture disc displaying the "The Wicker Man" artwork.
A supporting tour kicks off June 2nd in the band's native Europe with a North American tour to begin in Canada in early August. (Sorry no dates have been released for North America at press time)
Dickinson was not the only former member to return to the fold. Brave New World marks the return of Adrian Smith on guitar. When Smith left the band in 1990 Janick Gers replaced him.
Unknown to many fans, Bruce Dickenson was in fact the second Iron Maiden vocalist. He replaced Paul Di Anno in 1981 and went on to record the groups best selling albums including Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, Power Slave, Live after Death, Fear of the Dark, No Prayer For The Dying, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, and Somewhere in Time.
Dickenson and Smith rejoined Iron Maiden in 1999. Gers remains with the group so now the band fields an impressive three-guitar sound. The Brave New World Line up include Dickinson, Smith, Gers as well as Steve Harris on bass, drummer Nicko McBrain and Dave Murray on Guitar.
