Eminem went into this Thanksgiving weekend with some good news. Various media outlets were reporting that the Macomb County Prosecutor was ready to give the notorious rapper a pleas bargin for one of the two weapons charges he faces.
Not so fast! Launch.com reports that those reports were in error. They tracked down the Macomb County Prosecutor Carl Marlinga and were told that no deal was in the making. Marlinga told Launch that if Eminem were to plead guilty to the single charge they would ask the court to impose a sentence of eight or nine months.
The charge in question stems from an incident where Eminem and a friend got into a fight with a man named John Guerra. It has been alleged that the rapper pulled a gun on Guerra and during the fight hit the man with the weapon. The fight broke out because Guerra was said to be kissing Eminems now ex-wife outside a nightclub. Eminem was charged with two felonies as a result of this incident: Carrying a concealed weapon and assault with a deadly weapon.
