2000 was said to be the last year of the Ozzfest. However, it looks like Ozzy has decide retirement sucks once again and decided to give the metal festival tour another go this summer.
Perhaps the motivating factor for Ozzy was Rex Brown telling antiMUSIC's Debbie Seagle last spring that Pantera would gladly step in and fill his shoes by creating PanteraFest?
Nonetheless, details and rumors about he next installment of Ozzfest have been surfacing.
According to one online source a possible lineup in 2001 may include Ozzy, Guns N' Roses, Stone Temple Pilots, Tool, Slipknot and System of a down on the main stage with Godhead, Taproot, Linkin Park, American Head Change, Mudvayne, Cold, Loudermilk, Pressure 4-5, Nothingface, Ill Nino and Hotwire appearing on the second stage.
Ozzfest organizers and none of the bands mentioned have confirmed this rumored lineup to date, but stay tuned for official announcements to be made this spring.
- Yet another confirmation of the Van Halen reunion with David Lee Roth.
A Toledo, Ohio radio station WIOT has reported that they have received confirmation from a "reliable source" that Van Halen will release a new album featuring David Lee Roth in March. According to the WIOT report the new album will feature 13 tracks with the first single to be released in February.
However there has yet to be
an official announcement from the Van Halen camp, which has consistently
ignored rumors about the return of Roth since they began to surface last
year.
