This is based on the true-life story of Tim "Ripper" Owens who was playing in a Judas Priest tribute band until his dreams came true when Judas Priest asked him to replace vocalist Rob Halford in 1986.
The Judas Priest inspired Steel Dragon band from the film features Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society) on guitar, Jeff Pilson (Dokken, War and Peace) on Bass, and Jason Bonham on Drums.
