BRIAN SETZER ORCHESTRA LAUNCHES FIRST-EVER CHRISTMAS COLLECTION AND TOUR
August 13, 2002 -- After more than 20 years of recording and selling over 12 million records worldwide, triple Grammy winner Brian Setzer has revved-up his Brian Setzer Orchestra band for a first-ever Christmas album and tour. The new disc, Boogie Woogie Christmas features such eclectic tunes as �Boogie Woogie Santa Claus,� �(Everybody�s Waitin� For) The Man With The Bag� - as well as a new original composition entitled �So They Say It�s Christmas.� Boogie Woogie Christmas also covers some holiday favorites like �Jingle Bells,� �Santa Claus Is Back In Town� and a white-hot duet of �Baby It�s Cold Outside� featuring Brian with the incomparable Ann-Margret.
Boogie Woogie Christmas also features 2 tracks by Brian�s trio including Elvis� �Blue Christmas� which highlights �The Briannaires,� doing 5-part doo-wop harmonies (all of which are sung by Brian). In addition, Brian brought in a 26 piece choir for �O Holy Night� and �The Amens.� The set will be released on the Encinitas, CA based Surfdog Records and will be in stores on October 8. A tour with the Brian Setzer Orchestra and trio is expected to begin after Thanksgiving.
Brian recently wrapped a summer tour with Tom Petty and can currently be seen in Disney�s �Country Bears� movie which features his song �I�m Only In It For The Honey.�
