Billboard Reports

According to a report from Billboard magazine Canadian progressive rock trio Rush plan to hit the road in June to support their forthcoming album. This is the first tour for the group since 1996 when they toured in support of �Test for Echo�.  No firm release date has been announced for the as yet untitled new studio album from the group, but according to Billboard fan can expect it to hit stores sometime this spring. 
 

Undercover News Reports: 
George Michaels was the victim of a robbery this past weekend. (No we are not talking about Limp Bizkit stealing the 80�s pop idol�s hit song �faith�), According to the Undercover News report, someone broke into Michaels' home, in the London suburb of Hampton, over the weekend and made off with around $300,000 worth of cloths, paintings, jewelry and used Michael�s Aston Martin DB7 to make their get away.

A new biography of Ozzy Osbourne is coming in May from Cherry Red Publishing. The book penned by Rockdetector�s Garry Sharpe-Young will feature exclusive interviews with Bob Daisley, Lee Kerslake, Steve Vai, Brad Gillis, Bernie Torme, Ray Gomez, Dana Strum, Kelly Garni, Lita Ford, Don Airey, Lyndsay Bridgwater, Pete Way, Phil Soussan, Tommy Aldridge, Carmine Appice, Fred Coury, Terry Nails and more.

According to Rockdetector the book will feature � First hand accounts from Ozzy's key players as well as interviews with those who nearly made it through the audition process. The story behind the two bands Ozzy assembled away from Black Sabbath in 1977, the induction of Randy Rhoads, the major names that didn�t make it into the band, the recording and song writing processes, the real meanings behind the song lyrics, and a whole lot more- all exclusive. �

Launch Media reports:

Launch recently caught up with Godsmack frontman Sully Erna and asked him when fans can expect the next Godsmack album. Here is Sully�s response, �Probably like by spring, early- to mid-spring, we'll start writing and recording for the new record, and hopefully get something out by the fall. We'll have to see how smooth the writing process goes because we're definitely going to take our time with this one."

Fans can get a taste on the new Scorpion King soundtrack which hits stores on March 26th and also features new music from System of a Down, Creed, Hoobastank and more. 

Chart Attack Reports:

Our Lady Peace is holding open auditions to replace guitarists Mike Turner. They are asking guitarist hopefuls to send in video resumes including up to two minutes of their very best guitar playing along with a brief description of themselves.  It is unclear, but it does appear that the band is looking for a fellow Canadian to join the group.

KNAC.com reports:

Jane�s Addiction have approached veteran producer Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, KISS, Alice Cooper) to helm their next full-length studio effort. KNAC.com reports that Ezrin has not confirmed whether he is available yet. But it does appear that a new Jane�s Addiction album is on the way. 

KNAC.com also had this tidbit about James Hetfield, �According to the official Paul Baloff memorial website www.paulbaloff.com Metallica frontman James Hetfield has promised to record a song dedicated to late Exodus vocalist. �We in Metallica would like to say that we will all miss Paul for his work, his kindness and for just being there�,� James reportedly said about the Exodus singer. �So all our love to you Paul. I am actually gonna record a song just for Paul� so look for it in the near future people� ...We will all remember Paul. Like he said, �Heavier than time.� He truly was.� No word yet as to whether this song will appear on the new Metallica album, a tribute album of some sort, or will be a Hetfield solo composition. Paul Baloff dies[sic] on Saturday, February 2nd from a stroke at age 41. He fronted the Bay Area thrash band Exodus on their watershed debut album Bonded By Blood.�

Traci Guns recently dropped his fans a line on the message board at his official website giving them and update on the forthcoming L.A. Guns CD, which is due out later this year on Spitfire Records.  Here is what Tracii had to say, �Well we finished writing all the music for the new LAG CD today. Its pretty great :). One of the songs we are putting on the record is � Call Of The Wild� Originally Written and Recorded by Circus Of Power, the new version is slammin'.
