Strokes Cancel Weezer Dates Due to Injury, Plan Fall Tour

Fans who expected to see the Stokes open for Weezer on their current tour this week will be left disappointed as The Strokes have cancelled their appearances this week due to an unspecified injury.

Details are sketchy about the injury that cause the band to pull out of three schedule appearance this week: Monday’s show in Cuyahoga Falls, OH (July 15) – Tonight’s show in Noblesville, In (July 17) and tomorrow night’s show in Columbus, Ohio (July 18).

Because the band has been tight lipped about the specifics of the injury that cause these cancellations, speculations are running wild. The most prevalent rumor is that lead vocalist, Julian Casablancas, injured his knee but we have had no confirmation of this.

We do know that the Strokes are planning to head out on a headlining tour this Fall in support of their hit album, “Is This It”. Dates have not yet been announced but the band’s official website states that the tour will take place this October and November.
