Billy Joel surprised fans during his concert last Saturday (3-9-02) in Tampa, Florida when he invited members of AC/DC on stage to jam a version of the AC/DC classic �Highway to Hell�.
During the concert Joel began complaining to the crowd about the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame snubbing of AC/DC and then gave the audience a special surprise when he brought out AC/DC vocalist Brian Johnson and bassist Cliff Williams to jam the legendary hard rock group�s �Highway to Hell�, according to the St. Petersburg Times.
Joel may be known for his �piano man� role but prior to hitting it big as a solo artist he was the frontman for Attila, a hard rock duo that released one album on Epic records in 1970. The album ultimately failed, which led Joel to a short stint as a lounge piano player at the Executive Room in Los Angeles. That experience inspired Joel to pen one of his first big hit songs �Piano Man�.
Joel is currently on a co-headlining tour
of North America with Elton John. AC/DC recently released a full-length
home concert video �Stiff Upper Lip Live�. Word has it that AC/DC plan
to begin work on a new studio album soon.
