The Ventura County District Attorneys Office has decided to drop domestic violence charges against Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin and his fiancée Michelle Rubin. The decision was made after the DAs office reviewed the charges, but a spokesman for the Ventura DAs office did not give a specific reason for that decision.
As we reported earlier (see story) witnesses called police after witnessing Scantlin and his fiancée Michelle Rubin arguing on the side of the road. The witnesses alleged that Scantlin forced Rubin into a Jeep Cherokee being driven by an unidentified individual and the couple continued to argue in the Jeep as they drove off. Other motorists, who witnessed the struggle, called police and the Jeep was pulled over by officers on Highway 126. Scantlin and his fiancée Michelle Rubin who were reportedly on their way to a video shoot, were both charged with domestic violence related charges and released on $20,000 bail each. The couple was originally scheduled to appear in court on March 15th, but will not have to now that the charges have been dropped.
