Zach John King Teams With Brooks & Dunn For New Song 'Way To Go'

(Sony Music Nashville) Zach John King today releases a new track, "Way To Go," featuring iconic country duo Brooks & Dunn. Written by King, Rodney Clawson, Jimmy Robbins, and Sasha Alex Sloan, the upbeat track paints a picture of a narrator who knowingly leans into a love that brings nothing but trouble. With King and Brooks & Dunn trading verses, the descriptive lyrics reflect the storytelling that lies at the heart of the country genre.

"'Way To Go' is a fun one. I write a lot of heartbreak songs, so this one is a nice change of pace. It's about seeing somebody you know is trouble and choosing to follow through anyway," King shared. "Getting Brooks & Dunn on this song still doesn't feel real to me. They were such a massive part of my journey with country music, and we've gotten to know each other over the past year. The song was already done, and it was never written to be a duet. But the idea hit me and I just thought, 'how cool would it be to have them on this track?' They graciously said yes and what came out of it is something I'm really proud of. It's a perfect mix of new and classic all in one song."

The track will appear on King's upcoming debut album, I'm What You Get, available August 28th. I'm What You Get, which King co-produced with Ryan Wilson, will feature 20 tracks, diving headfirst into King's experiences growing up in Fayetteville, Georgia, ups and downs in love and life, and a desire to remember where he came from in the midst of rapid growth.

King is currently touring with Riley Green and will also be hitting the road with Luke Bryan and Thomas Rhett. King is also gearing up for his headline "Get To Drinkin' Tour" this fall, which kicks off on Oct. 1st in Indianapolis.
